      <image:title>Godfrey Hotel</image:title>
<image:caption>The challenge for this project was that it started construction but then sat still for three years due to the economic down turn. New ownership took over and restarted the project. The building needed to be reevaluated to see what could be saved before we could continue. We conducted on site surveys and determined and action plan to restore the structural integrity of the building. The original metal panels needed to be removed due to weathering. A new panel system was installed which required redesigning all the connections.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The original program for the hotel did not have a roof top bar. Ownership wanted to add this as an amenity. The problem was egress from the roof top area was not sufficient. Adding an egress stair through the post tension slab would have been difficult but there was another option. The hole that the construction crane used made a perfect alternative.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Part of the program was to add more office space to the building and since there is not a lot of space on the property we went on top of the Oceanarium for the addition. This allowed for no site impact. One of the goals for the Shedd was to reduce their use of city water. We helped this by designing a system that harvested rain water off the addition roof and placing it in their exiting water basins. They use this water for their cooling towers. We achieved LEED Silver certification for the addition.</image:caption>
